Frequently asked questions.

Does a Tumble Tots Waitaki class follow a routine and simple structure?

Yes, at Tumble Tots we believe that a little structure and routine is very important for your little tot’s development. We will have a basic routine, where we will start each session with a song and brief about the areas set up. Then children have plenty of free play time to move and explore the different areas set up. We promote our Tots to ‘Pause, Prompt and Praise’. If your Tot has a challenge, ‘Pause’ and give them time to problem solve, then ‘Prompt’ by offering suggestions where to place their hands or feet and then ‘Praise’ when they have successfully mastered the challenge. Towards the end of the session we encourage your child to join us for some shared group experiences. We do a variety of experiences with lycra, puppets, feathers, parachute, bubbles and more!

Can I bring a sibling to my child’s class?

Tumble Tots Waitaki is a special one on one learning experience for you and your little tot and we do not encourage the attendance of siblings. We do however understand that sometimes this is impossible to avoid and attendance maybe permitted if the sibling sits off the class floor at the side of the hall. They are strictly not permitted on the equipment due to the obvious safety issues surrounding this.

If my child is unable to attend their scheduled class should I let the centre know?

We would be most grateful for the notification if you are unable to attend your scheduled class but understand that this is not always possible. Please contact us via our Facebook page or call us on 021 400 395. Please note no refunds will be issued.

What should my child wear to their session?

It is important that your child wear suitable clothing to their Tumble Tots Waitaki class that will enable them to move, climb and tumble without restriction. We ask that children remove their shoes and socks during our sessions – they need to experience the activities with bare feet. Gripping and feeling tactile surfaces will enhance their developmental experience and help to ensure that they are safe when climbing the equipment. Parents please ensure you wear appropriate clothing and footwear too.

What happens if a session is cancelled?

Should an event occur, you will be notified in advance and depending on the circumstances a refund may be offered.
